The Wild & Fruitful team is growing! We’re excited to share that we’re looking for a Food Production Team Member to play a vital role in making, filling and packing our range of products at our factory address in Maryport.
This is a full-time, Monday-to-Friday daytime role, offering regular working hours with no evening or weekend shifts — ideal for someone looking for a hands-on production role with a consistent working pattern.
In this role, you’ll be involved throughout the production process, from weighing and preparing ingredients through to overseeing cooking, filling jars and bottles, and working as part of our packing line.
The right candidate will be efficient, keen to learn, and possess excellent attention to detail. As we work closely each day in a small, passionate team, we are looking for a hardworking, adaptable person. This role would be perfect for someone who enjoys being hands-on, working as part of a team and taking pride in producing high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll work as part of our production team to help make our range of jams, chutneys, sauces, preserves and other products. Quality and consistency are incredibly important to us, so following recipes, processes and instructions accurately will be a key part of the role.
· Ingredient Preparation & Weighing: Accurately weigh and prepare ingredients according to production recipes and instructions, ensuring the correct ingredients and quantities are used.
· Cooking & Production: Assist with and oversee the cooking of products in our production kitchen, following recipes, timings and established production procedures.
· Filling: Fill finished products into jars, bottles and other packaging, ensuring products are filled accurately and efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation.
· Packing Line: Work as part of the production and packing line to prepare finished products ready for labelling, storage and dispatch.
· Quality & Food Safety: Follow our food safety, hygiene and quality procedures at all times, helping to ensure our products are produced consistently and to the high standards expected at Wild & Fruitful.
· Cleaning & Organisation: Help maintain a clean, organised and efficient production environment, including cleaning equipment and work areas as required.
Experience
Previous experience isn't essential, and full training will be provided. More important to us is finding someone who is reliable, willing to learn and takes pride in doing a job properly.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Detail-Oriented & Accurate – able to follow recipes, measurements and production instructions carefully.
- Reliable & Hardworking – someone the wider production team can depend upon.
- Communicative – happy to take instructions, ask questions and keep the team updated.
- Hands-On & Practical – comfortable working with ingredients, production equipment and completing practical tasks throughout the working day.
- A Team Player – willing to work across different stages of production and help wherever required.

Previous experience in a food production environment, commercial kitchen or similar manufacturing role is useful, but not essential. Full training will be provided.
