Full job description

Part-Time Groundsperson / Gardener – Wedding Venue

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Groundsperson to join our team at a beautiful wedding venue.

Hours: Approximately 24 hours per week (flexible working pattern available)

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the high standards of our grounds and gardens, ensuring the venue always looks its best for weddings and events.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintaining and developing planting schemes throughout the grounds
Planting, weeding, pruning, and caring for flower beds and borders
Lawn care, including mowing, feeding, treating, and general turf maintenance
Hedge trimming and general garden upkeep
Seasonal planting and garden improvements
General grounds maintenance, ensuring all outdoor areas are clean, safe, and presentable
Assisting with venue preparations for weddings and special events as required

Essential Requirements:

Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, horticulture, or a similar role
Good knowledge of planting schemes and plant care
Experience in lawn treatment and maintenance
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
A keen eye for detail and pride in maintaining high standards

Desirable:

Horticultural qualifications or relevant training
Experience working within hospitality, estates, or wedding venues
PA1/PA6 certification or experience using horticultural treatments
