Fireplaces & Heating Ltd is based in Leagrave, Luton, and has a showroom open to the public, showcasing a wide range of electric and gas fires, as well as a huge selection of wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves.

We have our own in-house Gas Safe and HETAS engineers who carry out installations, servicing, chimney sweeping, plumbing and heating work, and much more on a daily basis.

We are a busy, growing company with a strong focus on quality workmanship and excellent customer service. We are looking for someone to join our team and become part of a well-established business with a wide variety of work and opportunities to develop their skills.

Job Overview

Are you ready to kick-start an exciting career in plumbing and heating? We’re seeking a motivated Plumbing and Heating Engineer Apprentice to join our dynamic team! This paid apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop essential skills, and work alongside experienced professionals in a fast-paced environment. If you’re eager to learn, hardworking, and passionate about building a future in the trade, this is the perfect role for you!

Duties

Assist senior engineers with installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and heating systems across residential, commercial, or industrial sites.
Support our senior engineers with gas and electric fire installations as well stove installations.
Use hand tools and power tools safely to carry out tasks such as cutting pipes, fitting fixtures, and assembling components.
Help with the installation of pipework, boilers, radiators, and other heating equipment following technical specifications.
Participate in site preparation activities including heavy lifting of materials and equipment to ensure smooth workflow.
Follow health and safety procedures diligently while working on-site.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of team tasks.
Good communication skills for working effectively with team members and clients.
Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills and responsibilities.

This apprenticeship is designed to build your expertise from the ground up while providing valuable industry experience that will set you on a successful career path as a Plumbing and Heating Engineer!

This role is predominantly focused on the heating side of the industry as you will be for the most part accompanying a qualified engineer on fire and stove installations.

The ideal candidate will become a full-time employee and attending jobs on their own once they have completed their apprenticeship.
