Admin Officer

School: The Partnership
Salary: Grade 4 – SCP 4 (£29,703 FTE) to SCP 9 (£31,884 FTE)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Working Pattern: Term Time Only
Reports to: Admin Manager / School Business Manager / Headteacher

The Role

The Partnership is seeking to appoint a highly organised, reliable and proactive Admin Officer to join our school team and provide efficient administrative and clerical support across the school.

Working closely with the Admin Manager, School Business Manager and Headteacher, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth and effective running of the school office. You will also support the maintenance of key pupil and staff databases and provide administrative assistance to the school's pastoral provision.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy school environment, has strong organisational and communication skills, and is committed to supporting children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the school office.
Liaise with the Admin Manager regarding office work and priorities.
Support the induction of new office staff and deputise for the Office Manager when required.
Undertake a range of general administrative and clerical duties.
Assist with maintaining accurate pupil and staff information on school computerised databases.
Maintain pupil attendance records and liaise with teachers and the Education Welfare Officer as appropriate.
Provide support with other information databases during busy periods of the school year.
Provide administrative support to the school's pastoral teacher, including contacting parents and pupils where necessary.
Attend meetings relating to pastoral issues as required.
Maintain confidential filing systems in liaison with the Admin Manager.
Assist with pupil enrolment, transfers and admissions.
Work collaboratively as part of the wider school team and contribute positively to the school environment.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who is:

Well organised and able to manage their own workload with minimum supervision.
Able to communicate with care, sensitivity and discretion with people at all levels.
Proactive and committed to achieving an efficient and effective service.
Comfortable working with computerised databases and administrative systems.
Able to handle confidential information responsibly and professionally.
Motivated to work with children and young people.
Emotionally resilient and able to maintain appropriate professional boundaries when working with challenging behaviours.
Committed to safeguarding, equality, inclusion and the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Experience of working in a similar public sector or school environment, and experience of working with staff and pupil databases, would be advantageous.
