Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Recycling Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the efficient processing and management of recyclable materials within our facility. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in environmental sustainability and industrial operations, with an emphasis on safety, teamwork, and operational efficiency. The role involves manual handling, operating machinery, and adhering to health and safety standards to ensure smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities

Sort and separate recyclable materials according to company guidelines and safety standards.
Operate recycling machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, with training provided if necessary.
Perform heavy lifting of recyclable materials, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including clearing debris and waste from work areas.
Assist in the loading and unloading of materials from lorries or containers as required.
Follow all health and safety protocols diligently to minimise risks within the workplace.
Record relevant data related to material processing, ensuring accurate documentation for reporting purposes.

Requirements

Previous experience or knowledge of mechanical systems is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, with good physical fitness and stamina.
Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure sorting accuracy.
Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment and adhere to strict safety procedures.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including early mornings or late shifts depending on operational needs.
A proactive attitude towards learning new skills related to recycling processes and machinery operation.
