We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various projects. Responsibilities
- Install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with technical specifications and safety regulations.
- Diagnose electrical faults using specialised tools and methods, then execute effective repairs or replacements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to plan electrical layouts and installations.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues before they result in failures or hazards.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards, including risk assessments and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections carried out for documentation purposes.
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, and multimeters.
- Experience with power tools including drills, saws, and cable cutters relevant to electrical work.
- Demonstrable electrical experience with a solid understanding of wiring systems, circuit breakers, transformers, and control panels.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively while adhering to safety protocols.
- Good communication skills for liaising with team members and clients professionally.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in electricity and electrical engineering principles, with the ability to apply them safely and effectively on site.
- Demonstrated experience in electrical work, including installation of wiring, fixtures, control systems, and associated components.
- Proficiency in maintenance & repair of electrical systems, ensuring reliability and safe operation in varied environments.
- Effective troubleshooting skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults in a timely manner.
- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent), and up-to-date knowledge of UK wiring regulations (BS 7671). IEE Wiring Regulations 18th Edition.2394 / 2395 desirable but not essential.
- Have experience in a wide range of electrical work.
- Valid ECS card or equivalent site safety certification, with a strong understanding of health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within Warwickshire and surrounding areas; experience in residential, commercial, or agricultural projects is an advantage.Full UK Driving License & own tools (Own van is also desirable but not essential)
- Hours of work: 40 hours per week, but must be willing to carry out some out of hours work when needed.
- This role requires a proactive approach combined with technical expertise to ensure safe and efficient electrical operations across our projects.
Pay: £21.00 per hour
