NURSERY MANAGER
Lead an Ofsted-rated ‘Strong Standard’ nursery at the heart of Deal
Creative Minds Nursery is an independent, community-rooted nursery based in Deal. We recently received a glowing Ofsted inspection, rated Strong Standard in four of the six areas and Expected in the other two— a reflection of the warmth, creativity and care our team brings every day. We're looking for an experienced, passionate leader to take the helm and build on that success.
The role
As Nursery Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the setting. From curriculum and safeguarding to staff development and parent partnerships. You'll act as our Designated Safeguarding Lead, shape and deliver a high-quality EYFS educational programme, and lead a motivated team committed to giving every child the best possible start.
This is a genuine leadership opportunity with real autonomy: you'll set the strategic direction of the nursery, working closely with our Business Manager and Managing Director to deliver outstanding outcomes for children, families and staff alike.
What you'll be doing
- Providing strong, visible leadership to the whole nursery team, with a shared sense of purpose and direction.
- Championing an outstanding, child-centred EYFS curriculum — including SEND provision and the key person approach.
- Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead, keeping children's welfare at the centre of everything we do.
- Recruiting, developing and supporting a brilliant team, including bi-monthly supervisions and annual appraisals.
- Building genuine partnerships with parents, carers and the wider Deal community.
- Keeping our statutory records and compliance audit-ready and continuing our strong relationship with Ofsted.
- Helping to promote and grow the nursery, including through social media and local marketing.
What we're looking for
- A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (e.g. Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator).
- A Level 2 (or equivalent) maths qualification or working towards this within two years.
- At least 2 years' experience in a childcare leadership role.
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework and Ofsted requirements.
- A strong grasp of safeguarding and health & safety legislation.
- A natural motivator and communicator, calm under pressure, with meticulous attention to detail.
It would also be great (but isn't essential) if you have a teaching qualification or Early Years degree, DSL training, SENCO experience, or a background working with Local Authority funding teams.
Why join us
- Be part of a nursery that has just been recognised by Ofsted for its Strong Standard across the board.
- A genuinely supportive, close-knit team with a passion for making a real difference to children’s lives.
- Real influence over the strategic direction of the nursery — this is a leadership role, not just a management one.
- Deep roots in the Deal community, with strong local partnerships already in place.
How to apply
If you're an inspiring Early Years leader ready for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you. Please send your CV and a short covering letter telling us why you'd be a great fit for Creative Minds Nursery.
Creative Minds Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check.
