Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Front of House Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our family-run cafe. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for excellent customer service, and a solid background in food service and hospitality. This role involves supervising our team members, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a welcoming and friendly environment for all guests.

Responsibilities

Supervise front of house cafe staff, including baristas, servers and runners
Oversee food preparation and presentation to maintain high standards of quality and consistency
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of operation
Assist with service when necessary, supporting staff during busy periods by making coffees, serving customers and running food/drinks
Lead by example in delivering outstanding hospitality and service excellence
Handle guest enquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally and promptly
Monitor stock levels of front of house supplies and communicate needs to management
Be confident in ordering stock when management is away

Qualifications:

Proven supervising experience within a cafe or hospitality setting
Strong background in food preparation and food safety procedures
Knowledge of restaurant operations, including serving, food production, and kitchen experience
Strong Barista experience with previous training preferred.
Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team effectively
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure
A friendly demeanour with exceptional communication skills and a commitment to guest satisfaction
