Hours: 37 hours per week (1.0 fte)
Salary: Up to £43,408 per annum* (please see salary guidance attached). Plus generous benefits. These include:
- 57 days annual leave per year (including bank holidays and efficiency closures)
- Generous Occupational Pension Scheme
- Financial support towards teacher training course fees if you do not have a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE)
- Progression beyond point 12 of the salary scale (£40,407) is subject to Tutors obtaining QTLS. Staff with Advanced Teacher Status (ATS) via the Society for Education and Training (SET) are eligible to receive an enhanced salary of £44,875 - please see attached salary guidance for further details.
About the role
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Pathways Tutor to join our Inclusive Learning team, supporting young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities (LDD) to develop the skills, confidence and independence needed for adulthood, employment and community participation.
You will deliver an engaging and highly personalised curriculum for learners working from Entry Level through to Level 1, focusing on areas such as:
- Employability and preparation for work
- Independent living skills
- Personal and social development
- Communication and interaction
- Community engagement
- Preparing for adulthood outcomes
- Functional English and Maths
Working closely with learners, families, employers and external agencies, you will create meaningful learning experiences that support progression into further education, supported internships, employment, volunteering and independent living.
You will also be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality teaching, monitoring learner progress, contributing to EHCP outcomes and ensuring students receive the support they need to achieve their aspirations.

You will:
- Have experience of working with young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
- Be able to deliver engaging, differentiated learning that meets a wide range of needs and abilities.
- Have a strong understanding of Preparing for Adulthood outcomes and person-centred approaches.
- Be skilled at building positive relationships with learners, families, employers and partner agencies.
- Have experience of supporting the development of employability, independence and life skills.
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
- Ideally have experience of teaching Functional Skills English and Maths.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
