Full job description

Job Title: Strategy Analyst

Hours of Work: Full-time (35 hours per week)

Contract: Permanent

Grade: SC4

Target Salary: £53,303 per annum + £6,799 annual car allowance

Location: Peterborough

About the Role

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for turning data into meaningful insight?

As our Strategy Analyst , you'll play a key role in shaping CITB's strategic direction. You'll use research, data and evidence to evaluate performance, identify opportunities and influence strategic decision-making across the organisation.

Working closely with colleagues and external stakeholders, you'll help develop and review strategic outcomes, monitor the impact of key initiatives, and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations that support organisational objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating across teams and influencing strategic change.

What you’ll be doing:

Lead the development and review of assigned strategic outcomes, ensuring they remain evidence-based and aligned to organisational priorities.

Gather, analyse and interpret data, research and market intelligence to inform strategic planning and scenario modelling.

Draw meaningful conclusions from complex evidence and communicate the strategic implications to senior stakeholders.

Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, coordinating strategic planning groups and facilitating effective engagement.

Monitor the impact of strategic interventions, evaluating performance against agreed outcomes and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Support wider organisational reviews and strategic projects across CITB.

Work with Communications and Engagement colleagues to develop consultation approaches and effective communications that support strategic initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

Essential

A degree or equivalent vocational qualification

Excellent data gathering and analysis skills and experience.

Advanced analytical skills to be able to evaluate factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations; demonstrable ability to filter, prioritise, analyse and validate potentially complex and dynamic material.

Ability to present technical data clearly and effectively to varied and challenging audiences, both internal and external

Ability to analyse and interpret financial information.
Ability to think laterally and beyond the constraints of the current scheme and systems.

Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaboration.

High level of communication skills, including interactive listening to be able to negotiate with other managers and senior leaders.

Ability to independently or as part of a team across several projects/workstreams simultaneously

Motivated self-starter with honed team skills

High standard of computer literacy (Excel, Word, Powerpoint , Outlook)

Meticulous attention to detail

Ability to plan and work within agreed timeframes and have the flexibility to meet changing and challenging priorities and manage ambiguity

Desirable

A comprehensive working knowledge of the current CITB role levy and funding

Knowledge of the skills and training system

Understanding or experience of the Construction Industry

Occasional GB travel
