Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. This role offers flexible hours suitable for individuals looking to utilise their accounting skills in a professional environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting our accounting processes, and ensuring smooth financial operations. Experience with various accounting software programmes and a strong understanding of accounts payable processes are essential for success in this position.

Duties

Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is up-to-date
Assist with payroll processing and expense tracking
Prepare financial reports and summaries as required by management
Support year-end closing procedures and audit preparations
Maintain organised filing systems for all financial documents
Collaborate with external accountants or auditors during review periods

Requirements

Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
Strong knowledge of accounts payable procedures and general ledger management
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles is preferred but not essential
A recognised qualification in accounting or finance is advantageous
