We’re looking for a detail-focused Payroll/Account Manager to proactively manage Direct Payment accounts, validate timesheets and invoices, and ensure compliance with pension and payroll regulations. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely payments for Direct Payment Holders and their Personal Assistants.
This is a permanent, full time role at 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday), working on a hybrid basis from your home and Chelmsford office, with occasional visits attend event days in Thurrock, Essex.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Direct Payment accounts, including monitoring funds and chasing contributions
- Upload and approve invoices and timesheets, resolving discrepancies
- Process payroll and payments accurately and on time
- Maintain accurate records across CRM, payroll and accounting systems
- Ensure pension auto-enrolment and employer/employee contributions are correctly managed
- Reconcile accounts and provide data for KPI reporting
- Respond to customer enquiries and manage account changes
- Identify and escalate safeguarding or financial risk concerns
About You
Essential:
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Ability to commute to Chelmsford and Thurrock in Essex
- Substantial previous payroll experience
- Strong customer service skills (phone, email, face-to-face)
- Excellent attention to detail, numeracy and administration skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload
- IT literate, with experience using Microsoft and payroll/finance systems
- Ability to commute to Chelmsford occasionally
Desirable:
- Experience in pensions administration or regulatory compliance
- Experience managing client accounts in a fast-paced payroll environment
