Are you an experienced Rail Arborist looking for your next challenge?

The Crown Group is a leading provider of rail vegetation management services, delivering safe, high-quality work across the UK's rail network. Due to continued growth, we're looking for experienced Rail Arborists to join our expanding team.

Our current primary contract is based in Birmingham; however, we undertake projects across the Midlands and throughout the UK. If you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in your work and want to build a long-term career with a company that invests in its people, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Rail Arborist, you'll carry out vegetation management and arboriculture works to help maintain a safe and reliable railway network. Working as part of an experienced team, you'll deliver work safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

Vegetation clearance within the rail environment.
Tree felling and processing.
Hedge, shrub and undergrowth clearance.
Removal of hazardous and overhanging branches.
Operation of chainsaws, brush cutters, hedge trimmers and wood chippers.
Fencing repairs and installations where required.
Vegetation management around railway signals, signage and infrastructure.
Daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
Identifying and reporting safety hazards.
Working safely in accordance with Network Rail standards and company procedures.

Prefered Requirements:

Previous experience working within the rail vegetation industry.
PTS (Personal Track Safety).
NPTC/LANTRA Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross-Cutting (CS30 or equivalent).
NPTC/LANTRA Felling & Processing Trees up to 380mm (CS31 or equivalent).
NPTC/LANTRA Brush Cutter & Trimmer qualification.
NPTC/LANTRA Wood Chipper qualification.
Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry (F+).
Full UK Driving Licence.

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

NPTC/LANTRA Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue (CS38 or equivalent).
NPTC/LANTRA Aerial Cutting with a Chainsaw (CS39 or equivalent).
COSS.
IWA.
MEWP.
Additional NPTC/LANTRA arboricultural qualifications.
