Abtech Safety manufactures specialist safety and rescue equipment used by professionals across the UK and around the world.
We are looking for an experienced Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our production team at our Deeside facility.
This is a specialist role manufacturing heavy-duty textile assemblies and components used within our rescue equipment range. The successful candidate will be confident working with industrial sewing machines, webbing, buckles, hook-and-loop fasteners, and other technical materials to produce high-quality products.
As our dedicated sewing machinist, you'll take ownership of this area of production, working independently while remaining an important part of our wider manufacturing team.
Your Responsibilities
✔ Measuring, marking, and cutting webbing and technical textile materials
✔ Operating both automatic and manual industrial sewing machines
✔ Manufacturing heavy-duty textile assemblies using webbing, buckles, handles, hook-and-loop fasteners, reinforcement panels, and other components
✔ Working from production cutting and marking instructions
✔ Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet our manufacturing standards
✔ Maintaining accurate production records where required
✔ Keeping your work area clean, organised, and safe
✔ Supporting continuous improvement within the production department
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
✔ Has previous experience operating industrial sewing machines (essential)
✔ Has experience sewing heavy-duty materials such as webbing, canvas, technical textiles or similar
✔ Produces consistently high-quality work with excellent attention to detail
✔ Is self-motivated and able to manage their own workload
✔ Works well independently whilst remaining a supportive member of the wider team
✔ Takes pride in producing products that are built to last
Experience within technical textile manufacturing, lifting equipment, automotive trim, military equipment, outdoor equipment, saddlery, marine products, or similar heavy-duty sewn products would be advantageous.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30–16:30, Friday 08:30–14:00 (37.5 hours per week)
Pay: £13.00 per hour
