About us

Easters (Norwich) Ltd is a fast-growing local family run business in Norwich, which has been established for over 40 years. Specialising in wholesale fresh produce and food service. We are committed to ensuring our customers always receive the best possible, high quality customer service.

We are looking to recruit a full time accountant/bookkeeper to join our growing team. This position has been fulfilled by a family member for the past 20 years, and due to nearing retirement we are actively looking for a suitable replacement.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the the continued development and enhancement of financial processes and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, customers and company directors.

The purpose of this job role is to efficiently manage all of the following aspects of a bookkeepers job role:

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software through Xero
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is correctly recorded
Prepare financial reports and summaries as required by management
Support year-end audit preparations by organising relevant documentation
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies
Collaborate with external accountants or auditors during financial reviews
Customer account queries/disputes
ONS surveys

Skills

Proven experience working with Xero software
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices
Proficiency in managing accounts payable and receivable processes
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Financially astute and able to assist the business in controlling expenditure

Hours and days of work: The successful candidate will need to commit to a minimum of 20-30 hours per week. This will be over 3 or 4 midweek days.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £17.50 per hour
