We are seeking an enthusiastic CAD Technician Apprentice to join our multidisciplinary team specialising in the design of rail projects across the UK. Accountabilities
- Attend college courses and complete all assigned training requirements, including workbook, college assignments and KSBs. Achieve a minimum pass grade in all modules.
- Learn to use CAD tools to produce high-quality 2D and 3D technical drawings using Bentley products including MicroStation, OpenSites Designer, OpenBuildings Designer, LumenRT and Descartes.
- Assist with the production of technical documents such as risk assessments, reports, specifications, and design approvals.
- Assist with design-supporting administrative duties such as filing incoming drawings and documents, completion of the document issue register in accordance with the company's IMS.
- Assist and undertake site visits and surveys depending on experience.
- Mentor, supervise and provide training to junior team members, promoting best practice and technical excellence.
- Attend design meetings, take minutes and contribute to reviews and problem-solving discussions.

- Ensure all project outputs comply with company standards and procedures, BIM requirements, relevant industry regulations, and specific client standards.
- Successfully manage project deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

The Person
- Minimum 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above, including Mathematics and English Language GCSE.
- Basic IT skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
- A valid driving licence, and willingness to travel to sites.
