Within the facilities Eaton has recently opened a new center of Additive Manufacturing where we are seeking a Lead Additive Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the technical expert. This individual will define, implement, and optimize the manufacturing, processing, and inspection methods required to deliver high‑quality, additively manufactured aerospace components.
The role involves close collaboration with design engineers, additive engineers, technicians, and internal customers to advance AM product development, industrialization, and production readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical expert for AM LPBF and EBPBF technology in Aerospace
- Set up additive build files, post processing, part inspection, troubleshooting and process documentation
- Optimize manufacturing processes, post‑processing operations, and inspection methods for additively manufactured components
- Design AM Parts and Supports - 3D modeling
- Introduce new Additive products in production utilizing the New Product Introduction process in accordance with established standards and best practices driving a right the first-time philosophy.
- Present and Lead AM product MRL reviews with Customers
- Act as a Design and Process mentor to other engineers
- Review and recommend changes for AM processes; WI and specs
- Manage Material and process characterization work for new AM processes
- MRL owner for many AM projects across the 4 divisions
- Support new machines Implementation
- Support Safety; 5S; Maintenance and Calibration of AM Machines
- Researches, justifies, and implements new manufacturing processes
- Supports development and execution of overall manufacturing strategy that supports the AM Team business strategy to meet cost, quality and delivery.
- Support and Own Government funded projects with Collaboration with ERL.
- Develops and implements effective mistake proofing as part of continuous improvement and root cause/corrective action.
- Participates as an active member in Rapid Improvement Events (RIE) to eliminate waste and drive standardization.
- Create and maintain the AM process Value Stream
- Develop in process monitoring and analyze data from AM Machines
