Job description
You will have full responsibility for managing the purchasing function across the business, including supplier management, procurement, inventory control, pricing, and cost management. The role ensures optimal stock availability, accurate reporting, and alignment of purchasing activity with overall business objectives.
In addition, you will support website promotions and product content, working closely with marketing to enhance customer engagement and commercial performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and develop strong relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, high quality, and favorable commercial terms.
Procurement
- Source and purchase products and materials in line with business requirements, budgets, and market trends.
Negotiation
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms to achieve cost efficiencies and improved margins.
Inventory Control
- Monitor stock levels to ensure timely replenishment while avoiding shortages and excess inventory.
- Oversee physical stock counts and report on stock variances, losses, and gains.
Market Analysis
- Research industry trends, new product opportunities, and competitor pricing to support informed purchasing decisions.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all purchased products meet company standards for quality, compliance, and sustainability.
Cost & Pricing Management
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and margin improvement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost prices within the ERP system.
Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams, including Warehouse, Marketing, and Finance, to align purchasing decisions with business goals.
Data & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier performance, and pricing.
- Produce regular reports to support stock management and business planning.
Delivery & Supplier Issue Resolution
- Manage the timely delivery of supplier orders and liaise with the warehouse to ensure efficient goods-in processes.
- Resolve supplier issues relating to damages, shortages, discrepancies, and credits, working closely with Accounts as required.
Requirements
- Must have experience working with ERP systems.
- Must have proven data entry experience.
- Must be highly experienced with excel and advanced reporting functions.
- Highly accurate and fast typing skills.
- Highly attentive to detail.
- Very organized with the ability to self manage time effectively.
- Excellent knowledge of correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.
