Background
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marketing & Events Assistant to join our Business Development & Marketing team at our headquarters in Cardiff, supporting the business client division. Our BD & Marketing team comprises 25 business development, marketing, and communications professionals who work collaboratively to deliver client engagement, campaigns and events across the firm.
The role
As a Marketing & Events Assistant, you will provide essential support across delivery of marketing initiatives, client events, hospitality activities and business development projects. Reporting to the Senor Events & Hospitality Manager and working closely with the wider BD & Marketing team, you will play a key role in coordinating events, supporting marketing activity and ensuring effective administration of departmental processes.
You will oversee the integrity and quality of data stored in our customer relationship management system, InterAction. You will be responsible for improving the quality and depth of the data held in the firm's CRM (Customer Relationship Management) database for marketing and business development purposes.
Duties of this role will include:
Events & Hospitality Support

Assist the Senior Events & Hospitality Manager and Marketing Executives with the planning, coordination and delivery of virtual, in-person events, corporate hospitality and internal events including occasional evening and weekend work.
- Supporting all stages of event preparation including invitations, mailing lists, RSVP management, venue coordination, event materials, merchandise, badges and registration.
- Supporting the delivery of corporate dinners, seminars, webinars, exhibitions and client engagement activities.
- Maintain event inbox, respond to enquiries and ensure actions are followed up.
- Support post-event activity including attendance tracking, feedback, photography/video requirements and reporting.
Marketing support
- Assist the Marketing and Communications team with content gathering, including event photography and video footage.
- Support marketing campaigns and client engagement activity through accurate contact lists and database management.
- Manage marketing cupboard, event collateral, merchandise and literature stock levels.
- Support the creation and distribution of marketing materials.
- Keeping track of 5* reviews.
CRM & Data Management

Maintain the accuracy and integrity of client data within the firm’s CRM system, Interaction.
- Process data updates and ensure records are accurate.
- Support data quality initiatives including checks database searches and housekeeping tasks.
- Handle CRM change requests and act as a point of contact for general CRM queries.
- Support with the firm’s GDPR approach and data management procedures.
Finance and Administration
- Track and collate marketing and events expenditure.
- Process invoices and arrange BACS/TT forms.
- Provide general administration support to the BD & Marketing team.
- Create invoices for events.
Skills & Qualifications

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to problem solving.
- Experience supporting events, hospitality, marketing or administrative activities would be advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence to liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a busy team.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Highly professional, in presentation and manner, at all times.
The successful candidate will be organised, enthusiastic and commercially aware, with a passion for delivering excellent client experiences through well-coordinated events and effective marketing support.
