Full job description

We’re a small company looking to bring in our first dedicated administrator to build the admin side of the business from the ground up. There isn’t an existing admin department, so this role is a genuine opportunity for someone with extensive admin experience to come in, create systems and processes, and shape how this part of the company operates. It’ll be one person to start with, and likely remain that way for the next year or two.

We’re looking for someone who isn’t waiting to be told what to do. We want someone who can bring their own experience, see where things can be improved, and make them better. The focus will be on results rather than instructions. If you’re someone who enjoys taking ownership and making a real difference, this could be a great opportunity.

A big part of the role will be handling new enquiries. When enquiries come in, they’ll need to be dealt with properly, and new enquiries will need to be called. Being completely comfortable picking up the phone and speaking to people is an absolute necessity. Being good on the phone is an absolute necessity. Actually enjoying speaking to customers is vitally important. This role isn’t for someone who shies away from making phone calls.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely wants to help the company succeed. We also want someone who’s self-motivated, self-driven, and doesn’t need to be dragged over the line. We’re looking for the opposite of that. We know that’s not the easiest type of person to find, but we believe that person is out there.

We’re also looking to reward people differently to most businesses. For the right person who wants to build something for the long term, there’s the potential for this to develop into a director position with a share of the profits. That’s something for later, but it’s absolutely available for the right person who wants to make that happen.

This is a remote role, so there’s no office to attend. Calls will come through the company phone number via an app on your mobile phone, so it’s important that calls can be answered promptly throughout the working day, Monday to Friday.
