Full job description

We’re looking for a Campsite Assistant to work at Great Langdale Campsite. This role is all about making sure that people have their best possible experience of an outdoor holiday with the National Trust. Internally, within the National Trust, you'll be known as an ‘Outdoors Holidays Operations Assistant’.

Salary: £18,913.05 per annum pro rated (£25,837.50 full-time equivalent)

Contract Duration: Permanent

Working Hours: You will work 1427.4 hours per year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.

Working Pattern: Your working hours will be focused between March and November, when you will work 37.5 hours per week. This includes 5 shifts per week (4 × 8-hour shifts and 1 × 5.5-hour shift) on a rotating early (07:30–16:30) and late (09:30–18:30) shift pattern, with occasional later Friday shifts (11:30–20:30). Weekend and Bank Holiday working is required.

What you'll be doing:You’ll help to keep the campsite and bunkhouse clean, well-maintained and welcoming for all guests. This includes practical tasks like cleaning and basic maintenance, reporting any repairs needed and generally being a friendly contact for everyone staying here.

You’ll be greeting people, helping with their bookings and dealing helpfully with their enquiries or complaints. You’ll also help to run the campsite shop when needed. Everything you do day-to-day will make a big difference to someone’s holiday, and help to make things run smoothly and to the standard that guests expect from the National Trust.
