Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Hod Carrier to assist in construction and masonry projects. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting bricklayers and masons by transporting materials, preparing work sites, and ensuring smooth workflow on-site. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in construction trades to gain practical experience and develop essential skills within a dynamic team environment.

Duties

Transporting bricks, mortar, and other building materials to various locations on-site using appropriate tools and techniques
Assisting masons with preparing mortar beds and mixing materials as required
Holding and passing tools such as hammers, trowels, or power tools to skilled tradespeople
Supporting bricklaying activities by organising materials and maintaining a clean work area
Assisting with the setup of scaffolding, ladders, or other temporary structures as needed
Ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times during material handling and site activities
Collaborating with team members to meet project deadlines efficiently

Skills

Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, trowels, and chisels
Experience or familiarity with bricklaying, masonry, or general construction practices is advantageous
Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively
Knowledge of carpentry, roofing, or welding techniques is a plus but not essential
Physical strength and stamina to carry heavy loads and perform manual labour over extended periods
Good organisational skills to manage materials and support workflow efficiently
Strong team player with excellent communication skills and attention to safety standards

This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their construction skills within a supportive environment. Prior experience in masonry or related trades is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided where necessary. Applicants must be physically capable of performing manual tasks and adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.

Pay: £130.11-£259.65 per day
