An exciting opportunity as a Maintenance Mechanic has become available at Carnoustie Golf Links.
This role is a permanent position and the successful applicant will work an average of 37.5 hours per week. You will be responsible for maintaining and making sure that all golf course equipment is in perfect working order to assist the Greenkeeping Team in day to day presentation of all areas of the golf courses and to make sure that it is in the best possible condition.
Key duties of the role include:

To work to maintenance programs for all machinery in the golf course maintenance operation set by the Workshop Manager

Carry out repairs and maintenance of all golf equipment, keeping all equipment operable and ready for use

maintain the mechanics work area and company tools in clean, well-organised, safe and secure manner and in compliance with all appropriate safety and compliance laws

Carry out metal fabrication work on and off the golf courses as requested by Links Superintendent and Workshop Manager

Assist with mechanical problems in other departments

Understand the Links policy on H&S and to ensure that all duties performed are carried out with full regard to the safety of customers, visitors, contractors and other employees; work within the H&S, COSHH, Risk Assessment and HAVS Assessment guidelines at all times

Demonstrate the efficient and effective operation and safe handling of all machinery/equipment and chemicals used by workshop/greenkeeping staff

Responsible for care and maintenance of machinery and the reporting of loss or damage to line manager according to Links policy and procedure

undertake ad-hoc projects and assignments as required

keep up to date with advances in new products, equipment and technology by various means such as attendance at various exhibitions, seminars, meetings, literature and internet
The ideal candidate should have:

Minimum of 4 years experience as a Mechanic

Driving licence
-
Experience of working on a range of turf maintenance machinery
-
Ability to understand and carry out instructions
-
A willingness to work outdoors if required
-
Self-motivated with a positive attitude

Takes personal responsibility

Should demonstrate an ability to lead and motivate others

Strong communication skills

Proven initiative - ability to contribute ideas for better working methods

Attention to detail

Positive attitude to change
Desirable skills include:

Level 2 NVQ/SVQ in land-based technology/engineering or equivalent

First Aid Certificate
-
Computer literate
