As a Tool Hire Driver/Fitter, you'll be responsible for delivering and maintaining a range of hire equipment while providing outstanding customer service. Reporting directly to the Tool Hire Branch Manager, you'll play an important role in ensuring our customers receive safe, reliable equipment and a first-class service.
Deliver hire equipment to customers safely and professionally
Inspect, service and maintain hire tools and equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
Test equipment to ensure it meets safety and operational standards
Carry out PAT testing where required
Provide excellent customer service at every stage of the hire process
Support the Tool Hire team with day-to-day branch operations
Ensure equipment is ready, safe and available for hire
Mechanical or electrical qualification, or relevant hands-on experience
Experience servicing and maintaining petrol and diesel-powered contractor tools
Ability to test, inspect and operate electrical tools
Current PAT Testing Certificate
Full UK Driving Licence
Strong customer service skills
Excellent communication skills
Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Builders' merchant experience
- Tool hire industry knowledge
- Previous experience in a similar driver/fitter role
Week 1
Monday to Friday: 7:00am 5:00pm
Week 2
Monday to Friday: 7:00am 5:00pm
Saturday: 7:30am 12:00pm
