Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician, ( MOT Tester an advantage) to join our professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and environmental standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive work and a commitment to high-quality service. The position involves working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and technical expertise are essential.

We offer 21 days paid holidays plus bank holidays

Free work wear

Working hours are Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm , with 1 hour lunch break

( Total 40 hours per week ) Occasional overtime available

Start date ASAP

Responsibilities

Work on all makes of cars and light commercials
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues using specialised tools and equipment
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake replacements, and tyre fitting, Cambelt changes, Clutches etc
Use hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and servicing
Complete detailed reports on vehicle condition and repair work undertaken
Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or components as required, adhering to health and safety guidelines
Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment to ensure safety and efficiency
Keep up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies and MOT requirements

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role within an automotive workshop
Mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components
Qualified Vehicle technician, MOT tester an advantage but not essential
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
A valid driving licence
