About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Digger Driver / Plant Operator to join our busy waste recycling facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the site, ensuring materials are handled safely, efficiently, and in line with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Operating excavators and other mobile plant machinery safely and efficiently.
- Loading hoppers, shredders, and processing equipment with waste and recyclable materials.
- Sorting and moving materials around the site.
- Carrying out daily machinery checks and basic maintenance.
- Ensuring work areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe.
- Following all site health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Assisting with general yard and recycling operations when required.
- Reporting equipment defects, hazards, or incidents promptly.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating excavators/diggers in a waste, recycling, quarry, construction, or similar environment.
- Valid plant operator certification (e.g., CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent).
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Flexibility to undertake other site duties as required.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within a waste recycling facility.
- Wheeled loading shovel or telehandler experience.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and equipment maintenance skills.
Duration: Permanent position
Location: Newry
Hours: 12 hour shift work 6 to 6 including weekends
