Health & Safety Manager

Mason’s Animal Feeds requires a Health & Safety Manager to ensure both animal feed manufacturing sites operate safely, legally, and efficiently while fostering a culture where health, safety, and wellbeing are integral to all business activities.

Job Purpose

The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the company's health, safety, and wellbeing management systems across the two animal feed manufacturing sites. The role ensures legal compliance, promotes a positive safety culture, reduces workplace risks, and supports operational excellence through effective safety leadership.

The postholder will work closely with site management teams, maintenance, production, logistics, contractors, and external regulatory bodies to ensure the highest standards of health and safety performance throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and promote a proactive safety culture across both sites.

- Act as the company's competent person for health and safety matters.

- Develop and implement the organisation's Health & Safety strategy and annual improvement plans.

- Manage and minimise potential risks and incidents

- Ensure all relevant Training and Emergency Preparedness is in place

Criteria

- NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification)

- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Health & Safety leadership role.

Desirable Criteria

- Chartered Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or working towards Chartered status

- Experience in animal feed manufacturing or agricultural processing
