McShane Packaging is a well-established food packaging manufacturer based in Armagh, producing PP and PS sheet for our own thermoforming lines. We're looking for an Extruder Operator to join our day shift team.
About the Role
You will assist in making our manufactured products, running automatic extrusion machinery to a high standard while adhering to health & safety and hygiene standards.
● Mix material into the correct bins in the extruder area as per the material mix recipe
● Ensure the extruder is operating at the correct settings and inform management of any changes
● Take off rolls at the end of the extruder once sheet rolls reach approximately 500kg
● Palletise, wrap and label finished rolls and rack accordingly
● Work to set production targets
● Wear correct safety clothing and equipment as issued by the Company
● Adhere to the Company's Health & Safety Policy and other procedures in line with BRC Standards
● Maintain high housekeeping standards at all times
● Wear clean and tidy uniform at all times
● Take ownership of product safety and actively support the quality culture at McShane Packaging
Essential Criteria
● Experience operating MEAF extruding equipment, or similar extrusion experience
● High degree of safety awareness
● Ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
● Ability to work on own initiative while working as part of a team
● Good communication skills
● Flexibility with regards to working hours
Desirable Criteria
● Proven experience in production
● Evidence of mechanical aptitude
