Overall Purpose of Job:
The Transport Planner is responsible for the efficient and effective assignment of tasks to Water Technicians, ensuring excellent customer service and optimised operational performance. The role involves route planning, problem-solving, and coordination with various teams to facilitate seamless distribution, installation, maintenance, and collection processes.
Main Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Task Allocation & Scheduling: Assign a variety of tasks including deliveries, technical services, sanitisations, returns, installations, backlog deliveries, and complaint resolution, adhering to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Route Optimisation & Management: Continuously analyse route efficiency, identifying and implementing improvements to maximise profitability and minimise operational costs.
- Incorporate new customers into existing routes through accurate geocoding and efficient route integration.
- Proactively adjust routes in response to changes in the customer base, including customer exchanges, acquisitions, branch transfers, new branch openings, or branch closures.
- Resource Coordination: Assist the Branch Operations Manager in task assignment and resource allocation, particularly during periods of employee absence or vehicle downtime.
- Plan and coordinate the work of third-party couriers where applicable, ensuring seamless integration into existing delivery schedules.
- Manage deliveries and sanitisation for special contracts, ensuring adherence to strict response times and contractual obligations.
- Customer Onboarding & Contract Management: Support the Branch Operations Manager in assigning tasks related to new customer onboarding, including initial installation requests.
- Reporting & Communication: Promptly report any instances of non-compliance or failure to complete assigned tasks by Water Technicians to the Branch Operations Manager.
- Notify relevant departments of equipment needs for upcoming installations and service requests.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in the evaluation and refinement of planning processes to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.

- Experience of service planning within the UK logistics market preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of the IT operating system, company procedures, and standards.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Sound geographical knowledge.
Requirements

- Daily working patterns will be determined by location Branch Operations Manager
- Occasional travel to UK branches may be required.
