Having successfully secured a pipeline of work across Re:Purpose/Architectural Projects into 2026/27, we are now seeking to recruit a talented Senior Structural Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's leading façade specialists at a time of sustained growth. Working within a fast-paced and collaborative environment, the successful candidate will play an integral role within our Design Team during the pre-construction phase, taking ownership of structural design intent, buildability and technical delivery across a diverse portfolio of technically challenging new-build, refurbishment and façade remediation projects throughout the UK and Ireland. The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of technically challenging engineering solutions from concept through to completion, while contributing to the future growth and technical excellence of our expanding Structural Engineering Team.
You will work on some of the UK's most technically demanding façade projects, including high-rise residential developments, commercial buildings, complex remediation schemes and Higher-Risk Buildings, collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams to deliver innovative, practical and compliant engineering solutions.
About The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Lead, the Senior Structural Engineer will play a key role in the structural design, technical delivery and engineering governance of façade and building envelope projects across the UK and Ireland. Working closely with the Pre-Construction, Design and Project Delivery teams, you will develop practical, buildable and compliant engineering solutions for a diverse range of projects including curtain walling, windows, rainscreen cladding, architectural metalwork and façade remediation schemes. The role will involve close collaboration with architects, contractors, specialist consultants and approval bodies to ensure designs satisfy structural performance, regulatory compliance and construction requirements.
As part of the role, you will contribute to the delivery of projects under the Building Safety Act, supporting compliance with Building Safety Regulator requirements, preparing structural information for Gateway submissions where applicable, and ensuring robust engineering records, design assurance and technical governance throughout the project lifecycle. You will also support the Engineering Lead in mentoring junior engineers, driving continuous improvement and maintaining the high technical standards expected across the Structural Engineering Team.
Technical Responsibilities

Lead the structural design of façade, glazing, cladding and secondary steelwork systems

Produce structural calculations in accordance with Eurocodes, British Standards and Building Regulations

Undertake wind load assessments in accordance with BS EN 1991-1-4
-
Design façade support brackets, anchors, fixings and secondary support structures
-
Produce structural glass calculations
-
Review architectural proposals to develop practical, economical and buildable engineering solutions
-
Coordinate structural designs with architects, principal designers, contractors and third-party consultants
-
Support compliance with the Building Safety Act and Building Safety Regulator requirements, including Gateway submissions and design assurance for Higher-Risk Buildings where applicable

Undertake structural reviews and independent checking of engineering calculations and drawings
-
Review and approve sub-contractor structural calculations and third-party engineering submissions where required

Identify opportunities for value engineering while maintaining structural integrity and regulatory compliance

Attend technical design workshops and client meetings

Assist in the development and standardisation of new façade systems and engineering details

Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers

Support site teams with engineering queries during fabrication and installation

Required Criteria
-
BSc (Hons) in Structural Engineering or a related discipline
-
Chartered Engineer or active pathway to Chartered status
-
Minimum 5 years' post-graduate structural engineering experience, ideally within the façade or building envelope sector
-
Excellent knowledge of general construction methods
-
Excellent communication, numerical and literacy skills
-
High level of IT literacy, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Demonstrable experience of structural analysis and design using Eurocodes
-
Experience in façade engineering, structural steelwork or specialist construction
- Experience using finite element analysis (FEA) software such as Robot Structural Analysis, Strand7 or equivalent

Strong understanding of Building Regulations and current structural design standards
- Experience preparing technical submissions for Building Control and regulatory authorities

Ability to independently manage multiple projects and design programmes
