Full job description

Experienced Baker – Join Our Growing Family Bakery

We are a long-established family bakery looking for an experienced baker to join our small, friendly team.

We are looking for someone with strong traditional baking skills who can help us expand and develop our current bread production, while maintaining the quality and standards our customers know us for.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced baker who would like to become an important part of a growing independent business, with the opportunity to contribute ideas and help us develop our bakery range.

The Role

Your duties will include:

Making bread and rolls from scratch
Helping us increase and expand our current bread production
Making and finishing morning goods and cakes
Producing our first batch of freshly filled rolls each day
Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
Working in accordance with food safety requirements
Maintaining good stock availability while helping to minimise waste
Maintaining consistent quality across our bakery range
Helping to develop and introduce new products
Working as part of a small team where everyone's contribution matters

Hours

The preferred position is 21 hours per week, with normal working hours falling between 12:00am and 8:00am but as we are looking to grow we may change operational hours in bakery

We are happy to discuss more or fewer hours for the right candidate, so there may be some flexibility depending on experience and availability.

Who We're Looking For

Our preference is for an experienced baker who is confident producing bread and rolls from scratch and can bring knowledge and experience to our bakery.

We particularly want someone who can work alongside us to grow our bread offering, increase production and introduce new lines.

However, we would also consider an exceptional candidate who is newer to baking but is passionate, reliable and genuinely keen to learn the trade. Previous experience within a bakery, kitchen, catering or food-production environment would be an advantage.

We're looking for someone who is:

Reliable and comfortable with early/night working
Passionate about producing quality bakery products
Able to work independently as well as part of a small team
Organised and able to manage production effectively
Keen to contribute ideas and develop new products
Proud of maintaining high standards
