At Haywood & Padgett, we take pride in being one of the UK’s leading bakeries, producing delicious baked goods enjoyed nationwide. We are looking for motivated and reliable Packing Operatives to join our team in Carlton, Barnsley. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced production environment, ideal for those with food industry experience who want to be part of a supportive and hardworking team.

Location: Carlton, Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts – Days (7 am–7 pm) and Nights (7 pm–7 am), on a rotating 3-on/3-off basis

Pay Rate: Packing Operative: £12.21 per hour

Employment Type: Full-time, ongoing contract with immediate starts available

Key Responsibilities:

Work along a conveyor line to quality-check and package finished goods
Keep your workspace clean—sweep, mop, and manage waste effectively
Report discrepancies, accidents, or near misses promptly to Shift Managers
Ensure productivity while maintaining high standards of quality and safety

What We’re Looking For:

A positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic
Previous experience within a food environment is essential
Reliable and punctual, with excellent timekeeping
Physically fit and able to work under time-sensitive conditions
Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality control
