Royal Mail is looking for an Installation Tech Support colleague to support the rollout of our growing parcel locker network. This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing area of the business and play a key role in ensuring new lockers are successfully configured, tested and commissioned before going live.
This role would suit someone who is comfortable with technology, enjoys problem-solving and is keen to learn new systems and processes. Full training will be provided on our locker technology, bespoke software and installation procedures.
About the Role
Working remotely and from your local Royal Mail location, you'll be responsible for supporting newly installed parcel lockers through the final stages of testing, configuration and commissioning. You'll work closely with installation crews, contractors and internal teams to ensure lockers are operational, meet required standards and are ready for customer use.
You will become a key part of the deployment process, using bespoke systems and software to monitor installation activity, identify issues and help ensure projects are completed successfully and on time.
Key Responsibilities
-
Remotely configure, test and commission newly installed parcel lockers.
-
Monitor installation activity and provide guidance to installation teams to ensure sites meet required standards.
-
Maintain accurate installation records and update systems throughout the deployment process.
-
Identify risks and issues that could impact successful installations and escalate where required.
-
Communicate effectively with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to keep projects moving.
-
Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve installation quality and efficiency.
About You
You don't need previous parcel locker experience to succeed in this role. We're looking for someone who is comfortable learning new technology, enjoys solving problems and can quickly build confidence using bespoke systems and software.
You'll be organised, adaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Most importantly, you'll enjoy working in a collaborative environment where communication and teamwork are key to success.
What You'll Bring
-
An interest in technology and confidence learning new software and systems.
-
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
-
Good communication skills, with the confidence to work with internal teams and installation partners.
-
A methodical approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
-
Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
-
Ability to work independently while remaining calm and focused in a fast-moving environment.
-
Previous experience in technical support, operational support, customer service, logistics or installation environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
Role Impact
This role plays an important part in the successful deployment of Royal Mail's parcel locker network. You'll help ensure lockers are installed correctly, tested thoroughly and ready for customers, supporting the growth of a key strategic service for the business.
