Overview
Bath Academy is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Academic Administrator & Examination Assistant to support the smooth operation of academic assessment and examination processes across the College.
This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys working within established procedures and deadlines. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating weekly assessments for GCSE and A Level students, supporting examination administration, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring effective communication between academic staff, students, and support teams.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Administration
· Coordinate weekly formative assessments for GCSE and A Level students.
· Prepare and distribute assessment schedules, registers, and supporting documentation.
· Monitor student attendance at assessments and maintain accurate attendance records.
· Produce attendance and assessment reports for academic staff and the Vice Principal (Academic).
· Follow up on absences and ensure appropriate records are maintained.
· Support the Vice Principal (Academic) with day-to-day academic administrative tasks.
· Maintain accurate student records and assessment data.
· Assist with academic quality assurance and student progress monitoring.
Examination Support
· Assist the Exams Officer in the planning, organisation, and administration of mock examinations.
· Provide administrative support throughout the main examination seasons.
· Assist with entry administration, candidate information, timetables, and examination documentation.
· Support the administration of University Foundation Programme (UFP) examinations and assessments.
· Ensure examination materials are prepared and distributed accurately and securely.
· Assist with examination room preparation and examination-day administration as required.
· Support communication with students regarding examination procedures and deadlines.
Access Arrangements and Student Support
· Liaise with the SEN Team regarding examination access arrangements and reasonable adjustments.
· Assist in maintaining records relating to access arrangements and examination accommodations.
· Support the implementation of approved access arrangements during assessments, mock examinations, and official examinations.
· Monitor and supervise the use of laptops and other approved technologies in assessments and examinations, ensuring compliance with regulations and centre procedures.
General Administration
· Maintain efficient filing and record-keeping systems.
· Ensure confidentiality and accuracy when handling student and examination data.
· Contribute to the development and improvement of administrative processes and procedures.
· Undertake other duties reasonably requested by the Vice Principal (Academic) that are consistent with the nature of the role.
