Join our Major Injury & Casualty team, a well-regarded group known for delivering high-quality legal services across complex claims. Based in Belfast, the team works on a broad range of casualty matters for leading clients, offering exposure to interesting and meaningful work.

This is a great opportunity for a proactive and organised Paralegal to develop their career within a supportive, collaborative environment. You’ll play a key role in supporting case progression, contributing to excellent client outcomes, and building your experience in a fast-paced setting.

As Paralegal within the Casualty team, you will support the management of a varied caseload of personal injury related claims. This role offers hands-on experience across the lifecycle of claims, including investigation, evidence gathering, and case preparation.

You’ll work closely with colleagues, clients, insurers and other stakeholders, gaining valuable exposure to litigation processes and developing your technical and organisational skills.

The role is primarily office-based, with attendance expected 3–4 days per week in Belfast.

Responsibilities:

Assist with managing a caseload of personal injury claims, including Employers Liability (EL) & Public Liability (PL) under supervision.
Conduct legal research and support case preparation.
Draft legal documents, correspondence, and briefs for solicitors.
Review and assess Employers Liability (EL) & Public Liability (PL) insurance claims, including identifying potential fraud indicators.
Gather and analyse evidence such as CCTV, accident reports, and witness statements.
Prepare court bundles and support document filing processes.
Maintain accurate records using the firm’s case management system.
Liaise with clients, insurers, and external parties to support case progression.

What will help you succeed in this role? :

Essential

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent organisation and communication skills.
Confidence using case management systems and conducting legal research.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

Previous experience in a legal or similar professional environment.
Exposure to personal injury, or other insurance related claims.
Understanding of the Northern Ireland legal system and civil litigation processes.
