The College seeks to appoint an inspirational and energetic, full-time fixed term Teacher of Mathematics with immediate effect and continuing until the end of the Summer Term 2027.
The right person will have a marvellous opportunity to work in a stimulating environment, where resources, buildings, colleagues and pupils all strengthen the process of teaching and learning.
The position would ideally suit an experienced teacher wanting to put his or her experience to use in a different context, and with the right skills and vision to inspire and motivate young people. However, we would welcome applications from recent top-flight graduates, thinking about a teaching career and also high-calibre ECT’s.
For this particular post, the candidate would need to teach Mathematics confidently up to at least GCSE and ideally A-level. The ability to teach Further Mathematics is not essential. Applications are welcomes from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time hours.

3. Job Summary: To teach Mathematics to pupils of all abilities throughout the school. To play a full role in the development of pupils by contributing to the academic, pastoral and co-curricular life of the College
4. Person Specification
Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:
a) Education & Training
Essential:
- Educated to good degree standard (or equivalent) in Mathematics or a closely related discipline
- Evidence of continuous personal and/or professional development
Desirable:
- Teaching qualification
- Postgraduate degree
b) Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
- An understanding of GCSE and A-level Mathematics and the importance of Mathematics in the school curriculum
- Involvement in, and support for, co-curricular activities relevant to the College
- Teaching experience GCSE and A-level – this fixed term position would not be suitable for an unqualified unless they were someone with very high potential. We would welcome high calibre ECT applicants.
Desirable:
- Experience of working in a boarding/residential environment
- The ability to teach Further Mathematics at A-level
5. Salary and Conditions
This is a full, fixed-term position.
The College has its own salary scale and the successful applicant will be remunerated at a level representing their qualifications, skills and experience. Specifics of this can be discussed with the Headmaster at interview.
