As the business continues to develop, the company is seeking a commercially focused Business Development Executive to identify new business opportunities, strengthen customer and commercial relationships, increase revenue and support the continued growth of the restaurant.
Position Overview
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, increasing sales and revenue, developing partnerships, strengthening customer relationships and supporting the company's commercial growth.
The role will combine market research, business development, promotional activity, partnership management and performance analysis to identify opportunities and convert them into sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development and Growth
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase revenue and expand the restaurant's customer base.
- Develop and implement business development plans aligned with the company's commercial objectives.
- Research local markets, customer segments, competitors and emerging trends to identify potential growth opportunities.
- Develop opportunities for corporate dining, group bookings, private events, catering, partnerships and other commercial activities.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales through new services, promotional initiatives and customer acquisition strategies.
- Monitor business development activities and evaluate their effectiveness against agreed objectives.
2. Client and Partnership Development
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers, businesses, local organisations and community partners.
- Identify potential corporate clients, event organisers, tourism businesses and other commercial partners.
- Conduct meetings and discussions with prospective partners to understand their requirements and develop suitable business proposals.
- Prepare and follow up on quotations, proposals and commercial opportunities.
- Maintain regular communication with business contacts and develop long-term commercial relationships.
- Support negotiations with prospective partners and assist management in converting opportunities into ongoing business relationships.
3. Sales and Customer Acquisition
- Develop initiatives to attract new customers and increase repeat business.
- Identify customer acquisition opportunities through local business networks, partnerships, events and promotional activities.
- Work with management to develop offers and packages aimed at different customer groups.
- Monitor customer feedback and purchasing patterns to identify opportunities to improve sales.
- Support the development of loyalty and retention initiatives to strengthen customer relationships.
- Maintain records of prospective and existing business contacts and follow up on potential opportunities.
4. Market Research and Competitive Analysis
- Conduct research into local market conditions, customer preferences and competitor activities.
- Monitor developments within the hospitality, food service, tourism and local business sectors.
- Identify gaps in the market and potential opportunities for the restaurant to differentiate itself.
- Gather and analyse information on pricing, products, services, promotions and customer trends.
- Provide management with recommendations based on market research and commercial findings.
5. Promotional and Marketing Support
- Coordinate with management to develop promotional campaigns supporting business development and revenue growth.
- Work with the marketing function to promote the restaurant's Vietnamese cuisine, events, catering and commercial services.
- Support digital, social media and local promotional activities designed to generate new business enquiries.
- Develop promotional materials and business proposals for prospective customers and commercial partners.
- Represent the business at relevant local events, networking activities and community initiatives.
- Maintain consistent communication of the company's brand, products and commercial offering.
6. Business Performance and Reporting
- Monitor business development activity, sales leads, conversion rates, customer acquisition and revenue performance.
- Maintain accurate records of enquiries, prospects, partnerships and business development activities.
- Prepare regular reports for management on business development performance and emerging opportunities.
- Analyse performance data and recommend improvements to increase revenue and commercial effectiveness.
- Monitor the results of promotional and partnership initiatives and identify opportunities for further development.
- Assist management with setting and reviewing business development targets.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required
- Proven experience in business development, sales, marketing, account management, commercial development or a related field.
- Experience within the hospitality, restaurant, tourism, food service or retail sectors is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of customer acquisition, relationship management and business development principles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify commercial opportunities and develop them into viable business relationships.
- Strong market research and analytical skills.
- Good understanding of promotional activities, digital marketing and customer engagement.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple business development opportunities simultaneously.
- Commercially aware, proactive and results-focused approach.
- Ability to prepare professional proposals, reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with management and operational teams.
