Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Plumbers Mate/Labourer to join our dynamic team with a minimum of NVQ level 2. In this hands-on role, you will assist experienced plumbers and tradespeople in completing plumbing and mechanical projects across commercial and residential sites. Your energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn will contribute to smooth project execution while gaining valuable skills in plumbing, mechanical systems, and construction processes. Responsibilities
- Assist licensed plumbers with installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems using hand tools and power tools
- Support the assembly and fitting of pipes, fixtures, and mechanical components according to project specifications
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely to transport materials and equipment around job sites
- Operate basic power tools such as drills, saws, and welding equipment under supervision
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency on site
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working with plumbing materials, tools, and machinery
- Support carpentry tasks related to framing or structural adjustments as needed for plumbing installations
Experience
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems or mechanical components is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding or assembly work is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work physically demanding shifts comfortably
- Familiarity with basic math for measurements and calculations relevant to construction tasks
- Prior experience in construction or trades support roles is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
