About Us
Engineering Trust Training (ETT) is part of The Engineering Trust Group — alongside The Engineering Trust, The Engineering Skills Academy, and STEMineers. For over 30 years we've been supporting employers with their engineering training needs, unlocking the potential of people wanting a career in engineering, and acting as a catalyst for businesses looking to fill skill gaps through apprenticeships.
We're proud of the depth of experience and knowledge in our team, and we're looking for someone who shares our passion for developing the next generation of engineers.
The Role
We're looking for an Electrical Engineering Tutor/Trainer to join our Delivery Team at The Engineering Skills Academy in Bicester. You'll deliver hands-on, practical electrical engineering training to our learners and apprentices on Level 2 delivery (Electrical Wire/Test and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment specifically), with optional L3 theory. Drawing on your own real-world experience to bring the subject to life.
This is a part-time role, working 3 days per week at our Bicester academy.
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging, practical training sessions in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on hands-on wiring skills
- Support learners and apprentices to develop the technical knowledge and workshop skills they need to succeed
- Assess learner progress and provide constructive, encouraging feedback
- Help maintain a safe, well-organised workshop environment
- Work closely with our Training Officers and Delivery Lead to plan and adapt sessions to learner needs
- Act as a positive role model, bringing our values of pride, support, and passion for learning into everything you do
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience of electrical wiring — this is essential; you'll need to demonstrate real practical competence, not just theoretical knowledge
- Relevant industry experience in electrical engineering or a related discipline
- A relevant electrical engineering qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC/HND, at level 3 or above)
- A teaching qualification (e.g. PTLLS/AET) is desirable but not essential — we will put you through this if you don’t!
- Excellent communication skills and genuine enthusiasm for helping others learn
- Patience, reliability, and a good sense of humour
- A commitment to safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment for all learners
What You'll Get
- 28 days (pro rata) annual leave, plus bank holidays
- Profit & Performance Pay (PPP) — a share of company profit on top of your base salary
- Pension scheme (auto-enrolment after 3 months)
- Private healthcare eligibility after 3 months
- Death in Service cover
- Cyclescheme and Home & Tech scheme — save on bikes, home, and tech products
- Genuine investment in your Continued Professional Development (CPD)
