ehicle Fitter Apprentice
£17,002 per annum, increasing after the first year (pay award pending) | Full time (37 hours per week) including one day at college | Fixed term contract for duration of Apprenticeship
At Torridge, we have a large fleet of vehicles and plant machinery that we trust our vehicle mechanics to maintain to an excellent level that complies with current legislation.
This is an amazing opportunity for an individual that would like to develop their career in mechanics by receiving formal qualifications whilst in full-time employment.
You will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of all types of council owned vehicles and plant, conducting routine, pre-MOT inspections and roadworthiness inspections.
Candidates who already have a Level 2 Automotive Apprenticeship will undertake a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship.
Candidates without any Automotive qualifications will initially undertake the Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprenticeship and once passed, will progress onto the Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship.
The successful candidate will be required to attend Exeter College once a week, and may need to attend an extra day at college if they don’t have a Level 4/Grade C in English and Maths.
