Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our nursery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cooking for a large number of people including strict adherence to allergens and dietary preferences. They will also have experience preparing and serving food to children with reference to their nutrition and specific food safety needs. This role requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills and kitchen management, excellent communication and teamwork skills, a positive outlook, and a commitment to providing high-quality nutrition to young children.
Responsibilities
- Create menus with variety, taking account of any special dietary needs.
- Prepare and serve food dishes to children at lunch times and prepare for snack and tea time meals.
- Communicate with the nursery team to ensure children are engaged and safe during mealtimes.
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation for a kitchen setting.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen setting, ensuring all hygiene health and safety standards are met.
Hours
Monday to Friday 9.00am-2.30pm.
*These hours have some room for flexibility
Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications in food hygiene and safety.
- Enhanced DBS.
