TNA Solutions are an Australian founded, international organization with offices around the world. We are an innovative and successful integrated packaging & processing solutions company with over 14,000 system installed across 120+ countries

About the Role

Working from our Birmingham office, we are looking for a Software/Controls Engineer to be responsible for the design and implementation of software systems housed within TNA’s packaging and distribution equipment.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Design and Develop control systems in a PLC environment (AB and Siemens)
Develop modular software block to protect IP and facilitate rapid deployment
Work closely with all departments, ensuring you are a key team member in transitioning new designs through documentation, prototyping, timely production and testing
Provide global technical support, maintenance & documentation / document software functionality to customers, on a needs basis
Ensure software testing procedures are followed and completed for all software designs/equipment prior to release and record the type of testing e.g. simulation, R&D Machine or Production
Use your electrical troubleshooting skills for undocumented prototype designs (low voltage)
Based mostly from our Birmingham office, but with regular travel to sites around the globe as required to commission machines and their software component

Skills, Qualifications and experience

Degree qualified Software or Mechatronics Engineer (or similar discipline)
Minimum of 3 years design experience with some autonomy, in special purpose machine design or manufacturing related field
Exposure to the food and packaging industry is desirable but not mandatory
Rockwell and Siemens PLC software design and programming
SCADA software, Wonderware, InTouch
HMI Software, Rockwell and Siemens
Industrial communication networks
Understanding of Technical documentation
Experience of safety PLC would be advantageous
Basic understanding of electrical systems
Ability to write well-structured documented and reusable code
Valid passport and prepared to travel at short notice, locally and overseas

Pay: £50,000.00-£58,000.00 per year
