Head of Alternative Provision (KS2–KS5)Job Advert

Location: Portswood
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

A Rare Leadership Opportunity to include a teaching responsiblity.

We are seeking an exceptional and visionary leader to establish and lead a new Alternative Provision for pupils (KS2 & 3)with a range of additional, social, emotional and complex needs. Our vision is to provide alternative education for up to 15 children.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a provision from the ground up, creating a high-quality, nurturing and aspirational learning environment that transforms outcomes for young people who require a bespoke educational pathway.

The provision is part of a well-established and respected care organisation with extensive experience supporting children and young people with complex needs. You will benefit from the stability, expertise and support of an experienced wider organisation while enjoying the opportunity to develop a new branch of the organisation.

This role would suit an experienced Teacher, Assistant Headteacher, SENCO or Alternative Provision Leader ready for an exciting new challenge.

What You Will Do

· Collaborate on the launch and development of a new Alternative Provision.

· Create an ambitious, personalised curriculum for KS2–KS3 pupils, which you will be partly responsible for delivering.

· Build a safe, nurturing and inclusive culture

· Lead safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and pupil wellbeing

· Develop partnerships with schools, local authorities and families

· Lead and inspire a small staff team

· Shape the future growth and reputation of the provision

What We Are Looking For

· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

· You must have SENCO experience

· Possible leadership experience within SEND, specialist or alternative provision settings

· Significant experience supporting pupils with complex needs

· Strong safeguarding knowledge and leadership capability

· A values-driven, resilient and inspiring leader

Salary M3-M6 plus additional SEN allowances
