Hamilton Ross Group Ltd are leading suppliers of Agricultural, Groundcare and Construction machinery across Central Scotland. We’re looking for a reliable and safety-focused driver to support the delivery and collection of groundcare machinery and equipment from our Lanark depot, operating a 3.5t vehicle with trailer.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery and collection of groundcare machinery and equipment, this includes mowers, ride-ons, compact tractors and attachments to and from customer sites, farms and depots
- Safe loading, securing and unloading of machinery in line with DVSA load security guidance and manufacturer recommendations
- Competent coupling and uncoupling of trailers, with full responsibility for trailer roadworthiness
- Use of straps, chains and restraints appropriate for groundcare machinery haulage
- Conducting and recording daily walkaround checks on vehicle and trailer, including defect reporting
- Accurate completion of all delivery, collection and transport documentation
- Professional liaison with customers and depot staff throughout the working day
- Representing the company well at customer premises, including residential, commercial and rural sites
- Maintaining vehicle and trailer in a clean, roadworthy and compliant condition
- Working safely on varied sites, adhering to site-specific health and safety rules
- Assisting within the yard when required, including positioning machinery
- Occasional weekend work during peak seasonal periods
Requirements
- Full valid UK driving licence (car and trailer, B+E category)
- Demonstrated experience of towing trailers safely, including loading, securing and uncoupling
- Previous experience in groundcare, agricultural, horticultural or plant equipment preferred
- Sound understanding of load security and safe trailer operation
- Confident navigating varied routes including rural roads and residential areas
- Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Forklift, telescopic handler or groundcare machinery experience beneficial but not essential
