Full job description

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the company's finance function, including:

Preparing monthly management accounts
Cash flow forecasting and management
VAT returns
Payroll and pensions
P11Ds and year-end procedures
Bank reconciliations
Sage accounting system
Sales invoicing and customer settlement advice
Purchase ledger oversight
Liaison with external accountants and auditors
Supporting the directors with financial reporting and analysis
Maintaining robust financial controls

About You

You will have experience working in an SME where you have managed a broad finance function independently.

Ideally you will have:

Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant
Strong Sage experience
Excellent knowledge of VAT and payroll
Good Excel skills
Strong organisational and communication skills
A practical, hands-on approach
AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent experience (qualifications desirable but not essential)

Experience within manufacturing, recycling, waste management, logistics or a similar operational business would be advantageous.
