Full job description

This is a part time role, 16 hours a week.

We are looking for a qualified accountant who believes every pound should be accounted for and can be explained.

This is the most senior finance role in our group. You will own the numbers across an education business and a portfolio of property companies, working directly with the founder and managing our in-house bookkeeper. If you take quiet satisfaction in a balance sheet that reconciles to the penny, you will enjoy this job.

Premier Property is one of the UK’s leading property education businesses. We teach people how to build property portfolios and businesses that create genuine financial freedom, through live events, online programmes and one-to-one mentoring. Thousands of people have been through our training.

Alongside the education business we own and operate a number of property companies — investment, development and trading entities, each with their own portfolios, funding structures and reporting requirements. You will look after all of it.

What you will be doing

Owning the month-end close across every company in the group, delivered to a fixed timetable
Producing management accounts with written commentary that explains the variances, not just reports them
Consolidating the group and keeping intercompany balances, loan accounts and recharges reconciled and documented
Running the rolling 13-week cashflow forecast and reporting on it weekly
Maintaining accounts for our property entities, including project-level cost tracking and lender and covenant reporting
Working with our tax advisers on VAT, SDLT, CGT and corporation tax across the group
Owning all statutory filings and taking the year-end through to signed accounts with our external accountants
Designing and enforcing financial controls — approval limits, segregation of duties, expense policy
Reviewing and challenging spend, and bringing savings to the founder before being asked
Managing and developing our in-house bookkeeper, and building the checklists that make quality repeatable

What we are looking forEssential

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
Trained at a Big 4 or top-10 practice, followed by at least three years in industry
An audit background and the controls instinct that comes with it
Experience across multiple legal entities — consolidation, intercompany and group reporting
You have personally owned a month-end close, not only reviewed one
Strong Excel — you can build and audit a model, not just use one
Experience managing or developing a junior member of the finance team
Willing to tell the founder directly when a number or a decision does not stack up

Nice to have

Property finance experience — investment, development or trading — including lender reporting
Experience in education, training, events or another high-volume consumer business
Experience implementing or upgrading a finance system across a group

The working pattern

This role is based full-time at our London head office. We work closely, we move fast, and we think the best decisions get made in the room together. If you are looking for a remote or heavily hybrid role, this is not the one — and that is fine, we would rather be upfront.
