Bench Joiner / Workshop Foreman
Overview
Oak Tree Renovations is a high-end building and bespoke joinery company. We are looking for a skilled Bench Joiner / Cabinet Maker to join our small workshop team.
We run a clean, organized, and well-equipped workshop. We don't do boring factory runs—everything we make is low-volume, high-quality bespoke kitchens, furniture, and architectural joinery.
The Opportunity: If you love being on the tools but want to progress your career, this is a genuine path to a Workshop Foreman / Manager role. You will work alongside our current manager to help run the shop, manage schedules, and guide the younger lads.
Duties
- Fabricate and assemble custom cabinets, kitchens, doors, windows, and bespoke furniture.
- Safely and efficiently operate standard workshop machinery and power tools.
- Work accurately from technical drawings, blueprints, and cutting lists.
- Perform quality checks on your own work to ensure a flawless final finish.
- Assist with keeping the workshop organized and moving smoothly.
- Handle heavy lifting of timber and sheet materials on the shop floor.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience in bench joinery or cabinet making.
- Machinery Skills: Confident using traditional hand tools and standard woodworking machinery.
- Drawings: The ability to read and build accurately from technical drawings.
- Mindset: A reliable, professional attitude, strong attention to detail, and the drive to step up into a leadership role.
- Fitness: Physically fit for lifting materials and working on your feet.
- Qualifications: Relevant trade qualifications or completed apprenticeships are a bonus, but your actual skill on the bench is what matters most.
