Are you passionate about food production and ready to lead a dynamic team?

We’re looking for a highly motivated Production Manager to oversee our production kitchen and ensure smooth daily operations. If you have experience managing teams, coordinating rotas, scheduling production, and handling inventory, this could be the perfect role for you!

I AM NUT OK started in 2017 in Nivi and Angela’s home kitchen, and the two began selling their cheeses in markets around Hackney. Since then, the company and team have grown organically as an independent business. Our production unit is in Hackney Wick, where everything is still made in small batches by our nutty little team. We now have a close-knit, diverse, and friendly team of 9 foodies. Our products are currently listed in Ocado, Whole Foods, Planet Organic, several pizzerias and restaurants, + more than 300 indie stores, and we keep growing!

About the Role

As our Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the production process of our plant-based cheeses. You’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring high-quality standards and efficiency while managing a small but dedicated team of 3 amazing cheesemakers. Your key responsibilities will include:

● Leading the production of all our products from start to finish

● Managing rotas and assigning tasks to production staff

● Overseeing ordering, stock control, and inventory management

● Ensuring food safety and hygiene compliance

● Performing quality control checks

● Training any new staff and refresher training for current staff

● Ensuring production records are filled in correctly and filed

● Supporting with cleaning, packaging, and labeling when needed

What We’re Looking For

● At least 3 years of food production experience

● Strong leadership, organisation, time-management, and team management skills

● Positive attitude

● Experience in production scheduling and inventory control

● Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness

● Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment

● Physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg regularly

● A proactive, positive, and team-oriented attitude

● Ability to work independently and problem solve

● Interest in plant-based foods is a plus!

Requirements

● Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate

● Experience with SALSA certification or extensive record keeping

● Experience working in a kitchen, factory, or production setting

● Great communication and organisational skills
