JC3DDesign is growing, and we're looking for a practical, reliable and hands-on person to join our production team.
We're a growing 3D printing and CAD design business supplying businesses across a wide range of industries. As our production workload continues to increase, we're looking for someone who can support our day-to-day manufacturing operation while developing their skills alongside the business.
This role will initially focus on the practical side of production. Full training will be provided, with the opportunity to progress into a Junior 3D Printing Technician role and eventually take on greater responsibility for printer operation, software, troubleshooting and machine maintenance.
You do not need previous 3D printing experience. We're more interested in finding someone with the right attitude who is practical, dependable and keen to learn.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will initially include:
- Loading and unloading 3D printers
- Changing filament and preparing machines for production
- Removing completed prints
- Removing supports and carrying out basic post-processing
- Cleaning and maintaining 3D printers
- Adding keyrings and other components to products when required
- Counting and organising production batches
- Packing and preparing customer orders
- Keeping the workshop and production areas clean and organised
- Checking completed parts and reporting any quality issues
- Following production instructions and quality standards
How the role can develop
As you gain experience and demonstrate your ability, you'll have the opportunity to learn and take on more technical responsibilities, including:
- Operating 3D printing software and slicers
- Preparing and setting up print jobs
- Monitoring multiple 3D printers
- Basic printer troubleshooting
- Routine and preventative printer maintenance
- Replacing basic machine components
- Managing filament and consumable stock
- Carrying out production quality checks
- Using production management software
- Helping improve print processes and production efficiency
Our aim is to develop the right person from a Production Assistant into a skilled 3D Printing Technician who can confidently operate, troubleshoot and maintain our growing production fleet.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Practical and hands on
- Reliable and punctual
- Organised and methodical
- Comfortable working independently
- Able to follow instructions accurately
- Detail-oriented and quality conscious
- Comfortable working in a busy production environment
- Interested in technology, engineering, manufacturing or 3D printing
- Keen to learn new skills and take on more responsibility
Previous experience with 3D printing, manufacturing, engineering, workshops, production or similar environments would be beneficial, but it is not essential and full training will be provided.
A mechanical or technical interest would be a big advantage.

This is an opportunity to join JC3DDesign at an exciting stage of our growth and develop your career alongside the business.
You'll be working in a modern manufacturing environment with a growing fleet of 3D printers and a wide variety of projects for business customers across different industries.

As the business continues to grow, there will be opportunities for the role and your responsibilities to grow with it.
