Machine Operator – Full Training Provided

We are looking for a Machine Operator to join our growing production team. You don't need years of machine operating experience – full training will be provided. What matters most is that you're practical, confident using tools and equipment, willing to learn and enjoy working with machinery.
You'll learn to operate modern production machinery, develop valuable technical skills and become an important part of a highly skilled manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate and monitor modern corrugated packaging machinery
- Follow company SOPs and health & safety procedures
- Adjust machine settings to achieve the best possible output and quality
- Identify and troubleshoot minor machine issues
- Carry out quality checks and complete production documentation
- Use basic maths for measurements, calculations and machine settings
- Handle materials, tooling and equipment safely and efficiently
- Carry out weekly PPM (planned preventative maintenance)
- Keep your machine and surrounding work area organised and maintained
- Work closely with your team to achieve production, quality and efficiency targets
- Continuously look for ways to improve machine performance and working standards
- Be flexible to work occasional night shifts when required, with premium pay rates
The Package
- £13.50 per hour
- Regular overtime paid at 150%
- Typical earnings of £33,000–£45,000
- Night shift premium – typically 30–50% higher
- 47.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday – no weekend work

What We’re Looking For
- Mechanically minded and confident working with tools, machinery or equipment
- A practical, hands-on approach to work
- Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
- Experience in a mechanical, technical or production environment is highly desirable
- Ability to follow job specifications, SOPs and instructions
- Good communication skills and a strong team attitude
- Reliable, motivated and safety-conscious
- Comfortable working in a busy production environment
- Basic maths and measurement skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to take responsibility for your machine
You may have experience as a machine operator, production operator, CNC operator, engineering operative, mechanic, maintenance technician, printer, fabricator, agricultural worker or in another hands-on technical role.
If you have the right attitude and are mechanically minded, we are happy to train you in the role.
Preferred but not essential:
- 1 year of machine operator or production experience
- Experience working with manufacturing machinery
- Materials handling or warehouse operations experience
- Mechanical, engineering, automotive, printing, CNC, fabrication or maintenance experience
